Anne Pasternak, President and Artistic Director
During Pasternak's tenure, since the Fall of 1994, the organization has increased its commitment to artists working with untried media and has offered established artists fresh opportunities to experiment and engage new audiences. Renowned projects under her artistic direction range from exhibitions and performances in the historic Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage, new sculptures in Grand Central Station, paintings in Coney Island and skywriting over Manhattan to the Tribute in Light, the twin beacons of light that illuminated the former World Trade Center site six months after 9/11, in honor of the lives lost there. Pasternak has been committed to initiating projects that give artists the opportunity to innovate their practice, celebrate New York life, and reflect on contemporary society while engaging millions of people with art that permeates everyday urban life.
In addition to her work at Creative Time, Pasternak curates independent exhibitions and contributes essays to cultural publications. She lectures extensively throughout the United States and Europe. |

SHANE BRENNAN, CURATORIAL ASSISTANT
Shane Brennan left his aquatic home in the Pacific Northwest to complete an honors BA in art, critical theory and media studies at Brown University. During a sojourn in London, he took courses in curating and contemporary art at Goldsmiths College, furthering a discontinuous solo practice as a writer, curator, and artist. Experiences at a variety of art institutions—including the Whitney Museum, Rhizome.org, and the Lisson Gallery—prepared him for a migration to the New York City art nexus. He joined Creative Time in 2007 as its first ever Curatorial Assistant. |

Sarah Burkhart, MemberSHIP and Events Assistant
Sarah Burkhart arrived in New York City from the fervid streets of Boston to attend NYU, from which she received an honors BA in art history, architecture, and studio art. Her passion for art and design led her through experiences at Andrea Rosen Gallery, Judd Foundation, the Grey Art Gallery, and in architectural firms and artist studios. She first arrived at Creative Time as an intern in the Development Department and joined the staff full time in 2008 as the first-ever Membership and Events Assistant. |

BRENDAN GRIFFITHS, MARKETING PRODUCER
Brendan Griffiths crashed his escape capsule in the East River in 2005. He emerged unscathed, but remembered little of his home planet. Having been frozen in cryogenic stasis for 4,000 years, he decided to attend the University of Oregon to refresh his aesthetic skills and successfully earned a BFA degree in Multimedia Design. He went on to work for Apple Computer, TODA, ROOM Studio, and other notable human institutions. When he's not designing flashing pop-up banner ads for Creative Time, he enjoys trips to the zoo, eating falafel sandwiches, and putting himself into a state of sensory deprivation in an attempt to recover his millennias-old memory. |
