Jay Buim is an adopted, delinquent filmmaker from the great state of New Jersey. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2005 with a degree in film. Shortly after he spent two years in Los Angeles working on the documentary “Beautiful Losers” after which he relocated to New York. In 2009 his first feature film “Todd P Goes to Austin” was released, which documented America’s underground, do-it-yourself music scene. The film received numerous accolades and was screened worldwide. Following the release of “Todd P Goes to Austin” on DVD Jay became the Producer for Nylon TV. Currently he is the video fellow at Creative Time and has begun production on his new documentary, an exploration of New York artists and social fixtures of yesteryear. He enjoys dumplings and riding his bike.
