Rebeca Huntt

Rebeca Huntt is an Afro-Latina independent filmmaker, multi-media artist, and native-New Yorker. She wrote and directed her first feature-length film, BEBA, which is currently in post-production. BEBA was recently selected to be in the DCTV post-production lab facilitated by Academy Award Winner, Yance Ford (STRONG ISLAND). Rebeca’s film also received the highest amount from the 2018 NYSCA grant after being selected for Kickstarter’s Creators-in-Residence program in Fall 2017. Rebeca was a 2017-2018 Uniondocs Collaborative Fellow, through which she directed and co-edited two short documentaries about immigrant communities in New York City. Rebeca was chosen to participate in the 56th Annual New York Film Festival’s Artist Academy in 2018. In addition, she worked in event planning and media for some of New York City’s best institutions for over three years, curating art shows and producing events with creatives such as Tschabalala Self and Venus X. She received her BA from Bard College in 2012.
