Master Builder was a multimedia theatrical work presented by The Builders Association and Creative Time. It grappled with the unraveling of the American family, using Ibsen’s classic play of the same name as a point of departure for its story. During the actual viewing of the performance, audience members observed the set through the open facade of a three-story house which was gradually deconstructed until all that remained was its architectural skeleton.
