Day With(out) Art 1999 consisted of two actions exploring how the AIDS pandemic has impacted local and global economies as well as health care systems: an updated The Banner Project and Daily Dispatch. Like the year prior, The Banner Project 1999 featured new banner designs for Internet users to post on their personal web sites; the banners contained a link to the Creative Time Web Action site. Daily Dispatch was another online project which featured artists, activists, and writers from around the world sharing stories about how the AIDS pandemic has impacted their community. Web Action 1999 continued Creative Time’s efforts to acknowledge how the Internet can empower the public to seek out and share critical information, build alliances, and ultimately effect change in the face of HIV/AIDS.
