The third Fear of Disclosure video by noted video and filmmaker Marlon T. Riggs explored issues of disclosure for African-American gay men who were HIV positive or had AIDS. The premiere screening on June 11th (declared “Marlon T. Riggs Day” by Manhattan Borough President Ruth Messinger) was a sold-out benefit to support distribution of the video project. The National Task Force on AIDS Prevention organized a five-city tour utilizing Rigg’s video in workshops for bisexual and gay men of color. Other AIDS providers and service organizations, as well as organizers and agencies serving the African-American and gay communities, screened the tape as a means to promote grassroots distribution while Video Data Bank and Frameline agreed to distribute No Regret to art institutions, libraries, universities, schools, and gay and lesbian film and video festivals. Transit Media assisted with filling orders from community groups and organizations. After showing No Regret at the San Francisco Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, Marlon Riggs was presented with a special recognition award.
