Watch rescues and races daily on Mars

SPACE PROGRAM: MARS has expanded its mission! Beginning this week, Tom Sachs and his “Grummans” will enact mini-demonstrations of the Flight Plan onsite at Park Avenue Armory every day at 1PM and 3PM. So even if you can’t make it to the regular or Endurance Demonstrations, you can still see the team in action as they work to complete their mission to the Red Planet.

During each mini-demo, the studio team will perform a Rescue Mission, which simulates what happens when the Mars astronauts re-enter Earth’s atmosphere, land in the ocean, and a helicopter picks them up and (hopefully!) brings them back to safety. Audiences can also watch as the studio team stages a race on the surface of Mars everyday at 6PM using the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” bikes from the exhibition.
