trip the light fantastic
A spectacular evening celebrating the mind-expanding artistic culture of PSYCHEDELIA with light shows, music, performances and an auction to benefit Creative Time-the boldest presenter of public art in the known universe. Trip the Light Fantastic features Joshua White and Gary Panter's Light Show; Light Show by Leo Villareal, with sounds by James Healy (Natural Sphere) and DJ Olive from the Agriculture, and inflatables by AKAirways.com; and a special limited edition, Guilty, created by renowned artist Fred Tomaselli specially for this event.

During psychedelia's heyday, works of art, music, and multimedia events pushed the boundaries of our visual and psychological experiences to new heights. Light shows brought together the visual arts with music in a way never experienced before. Many artists continue to work within this vein today and the movement has received recent critical attention with the exhibitions including Summer of Love: Art of the Psychedelic Era at Tate Liverpool and Visual Music at LA MOCA.

In typical Creative Time spirit, Trip the Light Fantastic re-introduces an important artist practice while exploring the way it continues to influence a new generation of artists.
