Once you arrive at the library: walk inside. There will be two freestanding bookshelves on your right. Walk past the first stack, which holds magazines. The second set of shelves holds reference books.
Your key will unlock: a box on the top right shelf of the reference section. If you have trouble finding the box, ask the librarian at the reference desk for help.

Enjoyed the various historical artifacts.
I was charmed and particularly enjoyed being able to handle the objects.
We got there today at 12:00pm, and it was closed, even though the booklet said “M–Tu 10a–6p”
The girl said they opened at 1:00pm today (Tuesday)
Bummer.
I gotta inform you, you are right on. I stumbled this website from someone else’s blog and am heavily fascinated by this topic and finding more info. Do you mind if I comment to this article from my ?
libraries have summer hours that are different from their regular hours and those kick in around July, so check the library website for summer hours (the booklet has regular hours in it, which were accurate in June).
The Cabinet of Curiosities exhibition by Takeshi Yamada on the 1st and 2nd floor lobbies was great. My friends and I were thrilled! IWe were also surprised that the library was nice and large. The key to city show was tiny but cool, too.
The artifacts were interesting but nothing can top a Nathan’s hotdog with cheese fries going home.
They are closed on Saturdays.
Nathan’s is over-rated and over-priced, in my opinion. I liked the pizza at Ragazzi’s (at MCU Park, the Brooklyn Cyclones ballpark, a block away). It tasted better than I expected it to.
Boo Hiss! Hubby & 6 year old son schepped all the way to Coney Island Library this morning, and it is CLOSED on SATURDAYS!!!!
they shorten the hours due to budget cuts, so i went to the website to check the new hours (since they made the changes not that long ago) but sadly they didn’t change it either. so i, as well, was stuck in front of the library when it was closed.
this was my least favorite site so far, and I have been to almost all of them. definitely plan other activities in Coney Island in addition to make it worth your while.
Be aware that the library is closed on Saturdays! I am going to head on down there tonight to take advantage of the late Wednesday hours.
I really enjoyed this site ! Wished I had scheduled more time to read more of the materials within the box. Was also thrilled to see a library so crowded in the summer.
I also really enjoyed this site! I thought the contents of the box were whimsical and very apropos for Coney Island.
Should have checked here first! The site was closed but at least Coney Island, as always, was open in all its crazy glory!
