Guys just be warned in advance they don’t allow cameras in the courthouse. I remember back in they days when I had to go for jury duty, they didn’t allow cellphone with cameras, now it’s just cameras. I advise just to take a picture with your cellphone for this check point.

  2. Theresa says:

I had no trouble bringing my camera in. Also, take a moment to check out the scene outside the Courthouse – best view of the new Yankee Stadium, interesting architectural detail on nearby apartment buildings, beautiful carvings and perhaps like me you’ll see a wedding party posing for photos!

  3. Melissa says:

I wish I had seen brides! But, the courthouse is really beautiful.

  4. The Wings says:

They won’t allow for cameras. I had to leave it with the security guard.

  5. Gary says:

    Fake Yankee Stadium fail!

I just have a question, My Brother and I have both already finished visiting all the sites back on July 26th and uploaded my all the pictures onto flickr and sent an email to locks@creativetime.org about the accomplishment. However, they never sent me or my brother an email confirming that they received our emails and when they will be sending our prize. Should I be worried or have they not checked their emails yet?

  7. Matthew Gaynord says:

Security could not have been more rude. And I quote “I’m sick of these Key to the City people coming here looking to take pictures when we clearly don’t allow cameras”. NO WHERE is it posted that they do not allow cameras. It was not until she advised me that she was “confiscating” my camera that I told her I would leave. If this had been my first stop – it would have been my last. PLEASE do not use them ever again.

To Anna T – I’ve been trying to get in touch with the folks at locks@creativetime.org as well and have not received any response. I thought it was because I only sent my email recently. I notice you sent your email a while back… have you heard anything back yet?

  9. Christopher says:

Hi Jennifer and Anna, congratulations on visiting all of the sites! We will be sending out the gift shortly. Thanks for your participation and patience, we’ve gotten tremendous response from the project and hope that you’ve enjoyed exploring the locks.

  10. Jennifer says:

Christopher, thanks for the response! Could you also tell me if we have to physically be in all of the photos we submit? I ended up going to some of these by myself and, especially for the ones in remote areas, there were no passersby that I could ask to take the photo for me… also, places like the Bronx Courthouse do not allow photos… thanks again!

Staff at courthouse was much nicer today. Was given a receipt for my camera which was returned to me after coming back upstairs. The box is broken on the top and there was one lonely note written by a child stating that it was clear the box was empty (too cute). I added my own note that proved I was there (without a picture).
