    Born 1970 in Patterson, CA.
Lives and works in San Francisco, CA.

Amy Franceschini is a pollinator who creates platforms for exchange and production that question and challenge the social, cultural, and environmental systems that surround her. Her interdisciplinary, often collaborative, projects focus on the perceived conflict between humans and nature, and the interconnectivity of local politics and globalization. She is the Founder of Future Farmers and the Co-founder of Free Soil, both international collectives of artists, designers, engineers, activists, researchers, and gardeners aligned in the common interest of creating work that challenges current social, political, and economic systems. Her solo and collaborative work has been exhibited internationally at ZKM Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe; the Centre Georges Pompidou; the Whitney Museum of American Art; and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco. Franceschini is a 2010 Guggenheim Fellow.
