About the Project
Custom and Culture 1 was the first of a series of free arts events at the U.S. Custom House on Bowling Green that encouraged thirty contemporary artists, dancers, and performers to exploit the historical building’s significance as a culturally loaded site.
The project was presented in cooperation with Custom House Institute, the New York Landmarks Conservancy, and the U.S. General Services Administration.
