About the Project

In its first installment, The Creative Time Summit: Revolutions in Public Practice was presented in collaboration with the New York Public Library’s conversation series LIVE from the NYPL. With the aim of furthering dialogue regarding the potentiality of cultural production for social change, the Summit highlighted the work of over 35 international artists, curators, critics, scholars, anarchists, and activists.

Throughout the course of one day, each participant gave a brief introduction to his or her work. Attendees thus gained valuable insight into widely varying global approaches, which collectively intended to not only reflect, but also act upon moments of historic change by breaking the traditional barriers between art, culture, and politics.
