Paolo Cirio is a media artist who investigates the power of manipulated information. He works in various fields: net art, street art, video art, software art and experimental fiction. He was born in Turin, Italy in 1979 and currently lives in New York City.

His artworks have unsettled Facebook, VISA, Amazon, Google, Cayman Islands and NATO, among others. He has won several awards, including Ars Electronica, Transmediale and the Eyebeam fellowship. His controversial projects are often covered by global media such as CNN, Fox, Toronto Standard, The Age, Der Spiegel, Libération and Apple Daily HK.

Cirio's works have been presented in major art institutions, such as at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney; Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver; Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro; Wywyższeni National Museum, Warsaw; Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst (SMAK), Ghent; National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens; The Courtauld Institute of Art, London; Palazzo delle Arti Napoli, Naples; Museum of Contemporary Art, Tapei; and NTT InterCommuication Center, Tokyo.
