Andrea Carlson is a visual artist whose multimedia projects, such as Let: An Act of Reverse Incorporation (2016) at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and The Uncompromising Hand (2017) with Northern Lights.mn, celebrate underlying Indigenous places and objects within compromised, colonial spaces. Andrea draws from her Anishinaabe, specifically Ojibwe, and Scandinavian heritage as a basis for her highly stylized work. Support for her work includes fellowships through the McKnight Foundation (2008) and the Joan Mitchell Foundation (2016).
