Peter Fend is an artist whose site-specific and conceptual works deal with issues of environmental protection and awareness. He founded what is now known as Ocean Earth Development Corporation in 1980, an assemblage of artists, architects, and scientists who research alternative energy sources and create large earthworks, encouraging creativity in scientific methods and vice versa. Recent projects include “Global Feed,” a long-term, large-scale public project displaying satellite images of the processes of global warming and alternative energy strategies on billboards and other mass media channels.
