QUEER INTERVENTIONS

PAMM and Frost Science Bus Parking, Pérez Art Museum Miami, 1103 Biscayne Blvd | Transportation Options

Queer Interventions, is an interactive platform to generate open dialog on queer visibility, identity and inclusion activated through participatory relational activities. From 11am – 12pm Laurencia Strauss and Ricardo E. Zulueta, will share public art projects that highlight queer normative methodologies in order to shed light on pressing socio-political issues in the era of neoliberalism. The Queer Nomadic Meeting Hub mobile camper, serves as a communal site for sharing strategies with the potential for radical change. More specifically, the artists’ manifesto aims to compensate for the erasure of Miami’s queer history(ies) by activating and deploying their migratory public space as a “safe site” available to all regardless of gendered or geographic boundaries. Be sure to also pre-register here to join Laurencia Strauss and Ricardo E. Zulueta for their intimate discussion from 10am – 11am.

Laurencia Strauss is an interdisciplinary artist based in Miami whose socially-based landscape experiments provoke our sense of interdependence locally and globally.
