Led by Lia and Dan Perjovschi, this theory and practice based workshop will include a brainstorming session, discussion, drawing session and a group analysis of the drawings. Addressing basic questions such as “What is art, artist, critic, curator, art institution today?”, “What are their roles, and what messages do they give in a constantly changing society?” this session will explore the tools necessary to understand art, rather than analyzing the context of art. Together with the artists, participants will search for critical, articulated attitudes and recuperate hidden, lost ideas and trying to make sense out of the findings. Every participant will leave with a fanzine with drawings from all the other participants.

Lia Perjovschi is the founder and coordinator of CAA /CAA (Contemporary Art Archive and Center for Art Analysis), an organic still in process project exploring notions of the archive and historicity. Her activity can be summarized as a journey from her body to the body of knowledge, taking archives, museums, and the canon as sites of personal exploration. Her work has been shown in more than 500 exhibitions, lectures, and workshops around the world.

Dan Perjovschi draws social and political comments directly on walls, windows, corridors and lobbies of art institutions around the world. He also works with artist books and newspapers and frequently collaborates with printed media. He has presented solo exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, MACRO in Rome, Italy, and the Kunsthalle in Basel, Switzerland among many others.
