We Curate, We Critique is an arts collective invested in expanding the ways in which creative work by Black Canadians is engaged, promoted and supported. As such, the collective fosters collaborative projects and creates peer mentorships to make art and critical writing from a Black Canadian perspective a sustainable possibility.

Too easily within a Western context, works of art are accessed and celebrated in relation to market forces, often obscuring the very real ways in which art for some communities does more than accumulate monetary value. In this panel the We Curate, We Critique collective explores, analyzes, problematizes and presents strategies around the innovative ways in which Black Canadian artists engage in creative acts of survival in the art world and beyond.
