Art on the Beach 9 at Hunter's Point, Queens featured seven large-scale outdoor installations by artists and architects, three performance events, and Bands on the Beach, a four-evening music series. The series opened with the big band sounds of the Ordinaires and Samba Nova, a Brazilian music and dance ensemble, and German artist Kain Karawahn's painting of liquid fire at sunset.
