The Anchorage will be transformed into a netherworld of musical and literary
darkness as Vernon Reid leads a live ensemble of musicians in a performance
of original music as backdrop for a variety of well-known actors and speakers
reading from works of mystery, classic noir, the macabre, fantasy, and
psychological thrillers.

Creative Time is pleased to present an evening of symphonies never
performed before in the U.S. Glenn Branca will present the U.S. debut of
Symphony #12 (Sexus). This will be the first New York performance by
Glenn's ensemble in over 5 years. The piece is composed for 11 electric
guitars, and will literally rattle the chambers of the Anchorage. Phil
Kline will debut String Quartet No. 1 for Electric String Quartet, a
composition performed by a string ensemble, as well as a
cadre of boomboxes.

Created in November of 1991, the Lyricist Lounge has become an institution
by creating and sustaining hip-hop's underground flavor. The Lounge began
solely as a creative outlet for young unsigned artists to exhibit their rap
skills. Now with record deals, MTV variety shows, and more, the lounge has
become more than a party, but a bellwether for all aspects of the hip-hop
culture.

A common remark about the space of the Anchorage is
that it resembles a cathedral. Now it' time to have two of the finest gospel choirs in New York make
joyful noises under the bridge. For 51 years, the McCollough Sons of
Thunder have produced a powerful, boisterous, stomping version of God's
music, performing in the United House of Prayer for All People in Harlem,
New York. Under the leadership of Elder Edward Babb, this 40-piece ensemble
of trombones blast out spirit and joy in a way that is literally
soul-stirring.
