Iman Saleh was born in Baghdad and grew up between Manchester and Baghdad. She is a translator and editor and has taught in Iraq and the U.S. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Baghdad with a major in English. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and completed a Masters Degree in Literature at SUNY Binghamton. Her master’s thesis examined intercultural dialogues between Middle Eastern and Western cultures. Saleh is a member of the Iraqi Independent Women’s Group, which is dedicated to securing the political, professional, and economic rights of Iraqi women.
