Ruthie Epstein is the project coordinator of Iraqi refugee advocacy at Human Rights First (HRF) and has traveled to Syria and Jordan to undertake research on the humanitarian crisis facing displaced Iraqis. Previous to this work, she was a program associate in HRF's Refugee Protection Program, helping to run the pro bono legal representation program for asylum seekers. She also worked for six years as a freelance copyeditor for several major magazines in New York while performing on the downtown experimental dance scene. Epstein holds a Master's of International Affairs from Columbia University and an AB from Washington University in St. Louis.
