Samm Farai Monro, better known as Comrade Fatso, is regarded as one of the leading Zimbabwean spoken word artists. He and his band, Chabvondoka, have toured Europe, North America, the Caribbean and Africa. Comrade Fatso is also in high demand as a stand-up comedian, having launched one of Harare’s premier stand-up comedy events, the Bang Bang Comedy Club, as well as being the creator and one of the main actors in Zambezi News. In 2014 Comrade Fatso headlined the hugely popular stand-up comedy show “75%” at the Harare International Festival of the Arts, then took his comedy on tour in South Africa and Swaziland for Zambezi News live shows.
