The École de la Montagne Rouge (Red Mountain School) is an initiative of politically engaged young designers who are students in the Graphic Design department of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Through their actions, thoughts and graphic research, the École offers an alternative way to get involved in the student protest movement. The École is a place of exchange where students will be teachers, and teachers will be students. The organization offers a different approach to both aesthetics and revolutionary movements through a series of workshops and conferences connecting graphic design and concerns about rising tuition.
