Michael Hardt is the chair of the Literature Program at Duke University. He is co-author, with Antonio Negri, of Declaration (self-published, 2012) as well as the "Empire" trilogy (Empire [Harvard University Press, 2000], Multitude [Penguin, 2005] and Commonwealth [Harvard University Press, 2009]). He currently serves as editor of The South Atlantic Quarterly.
