Niki Singleton

Niki Singleton works in drawing, painting, digital art, found material sculpture, installation, video and performance. Some of her recent projects include a PDF sent to people occupying abandoned houses in New York, a gay tragic/comic strip series on Facebook and a found object installation and live painting performance on the subject of gentrification.

Born in Vancouver, Canada, to African and European parents, Niki Singleton is now based in Brooklyn after traveling and living abroad for the last 10 years. She has undertaken residencies in France, the Netherlands and New York, and has had solo exhibitions at the Holocaust Museum (Dallas), TVAA Gallery (Dallas) and Imagine Ic (Amsterdam). Her work has been shown in group exhibitions at venues including 287 Spring Gallery, Nurture Art, and Triangle Workshop in New York. She holds an MFA from the New York Studio School. Singleton is currently working on an opera with composer and choreographer Thea Little.
