Yonous Muhammadi was elected president of the Afghan Community in Greece from 2009 to 2013. In 2010 he co-founded the Greek Forum of Refugees, and he was elected its President in 2013. He is a member of the European Migration Forum in Brussels and of the National Council against Racism of the Ministry of Justice. He received the “Alison Des Forges” Award for Extraordinary Activism from the Human Rights Watch in 2016.
