Through video, drawing and installation, Liesbeth Bik and Jos Van der Pol ask: “How can art maintain a space for difference in contemporary culture?”

Bik Van der Pol

Liesbeth Bik and Jos Van der Pol have collaborated as Bik Van der Pol since 1995. Their installations, videos, and drawings interrogate the temporality of physical and cultural spaces and moments. In 2007, they designed a screening format and guidebook for the Istanbul Biennale’s “Night-comers” video program throughout the city that broadened public access to the “high culture” event, as opposed to the traditional design of an exclusive screening structure. Their work has also been shown at the 10th Biennale de Lyon this year and the Moscow Biennale in 2007.
