For the past 13 years, Colibrí Sanfiorenzo-Barnhard has worked in the nonprofit sector with community groups that develop education, conservation, and cultural grassroots actions in Puerto Rico. She has a background in action-based field ecology, and is currently the Administrative Director of The Center for Landscape Conservation and the co-founder and president of HASER (Haciendo Acciones Socio-Ecológicas Resilientes), the first and only nonprofit in Puerto Rico created to offer fiscal sponsorship to community groups and to support group development. She believes that just and equitable actions done at neighborhood level can cause meaningful global change.
