Summit X Dinner Session

7:30PM – 9:30PM

SPINOZA PARTY #11

Hosted by L’iat (Language Is A Thing)

THE TEN BELLS, 247 BROOME ST, NEW YORK, NY

Note: This is a seated dinner that will require attendees to dress up in costumes.

L’iat (Language is a Thing) is an artist collective based in Brooklyn, New York who throw “Spinoza Parties”: interactive engagements that vary from strange dinner parties to parades. Spinoza Parties re-conceptualize relational aesthetics in an attempt to facilitate greater collaboration and community. Complete with costumes and strange dishes — One or Several leeks? (leek soup in a balloon), Karl Poppers (alkyl nitrite, radish), or Schopenhauer & Hegel, is there a dialectic? (a chickpea and a raisin) — attendees bond over the absurdity. Upon arrival attendees are supplied a costume, a beverage, and a prompt, before finding their assigned seats and being served dinner by L’iat members. Your hosts will be serving 15 – 20 small courses of strange and comical tapas, all vegetarian.
