Open Call: Be a 2013 Summit Presenter!

July 19th, 2013

OPEN CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE AMANDA WEIL LECTURE

Creative Time seeks an extraordinary member of our community to join Vito Acconci, Lucy Lippard, Rick Lowe, Rebecca Solnit, and other incredible artists and thinkers on the stage in NYC this October 25-26 at our fifth annual Summit: Art, Place, and Dislocation in the 21st Century City. We know our audiences are full of incredible artists, and so this is our chance to discover your work and share your practice with an international audience.

What are we looking for? The 2013 open call seeks an innovative artist who engages issues of art and urban space in surprising and meaningful ways.

Named in honor of artist and ever-supportive former Creative Time board chair (2006–2013) service Amanda Weil, The Amanda Weil Lecture provides an opportunity for the winning artist to discuss work that demonstrates a genuine commitment to community and constructive social change. The Lecture takes place at our annual Summit—the leading conference devoted to art and social justice—before a live audience of 1,000 and tens of thousands of online viewers. And it’s all part of two full days of exploration and exchange.

If selected to present at the conference, Creative Time will pay you a speakers fee and will cover travel and accommodations.
