Open Call Announcement Dinner
CREATIVE TIME CELEBRATES INNAUGURAL OPEN CALL ARTIST RISA PUNO AT THE TIMES SQUARE EDITION
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13, 2019 | THE EDITION TIMES SQUARE
Creative Time and EDITION hosted an intimate dinner to celebrate New York-based artist Risa Puno, who has been selected for Creative Time’s first open call. The organization was The Times Square EDITION’s first cultural partner, which opened to the public this week. Guests from the worlds of art, fashion, and culture enjoyed cocktails and a specially-prepared menu by Michelin star chef John Fraser at his latest restaurant, 701 West, on the 11th floor of the property. Following the dinner, guests headed downstairs for an EDITION after party featuring Lauryn Hill.
Puno’s public art project, debuting this summer, will take the form of an escape room game. Puno will use the activity’s format of puzzles and riddles to examine issues of social dynamics. Puno’s project was chosen from over 600 applications from the organization’s inaugural open call for New York-based emerging artists — the first initiative of its kind in the organization’s 40 year history.
