Leonhardt Cassullo Video Fellowship

 

Scope of Position

The Video Fellow is central to Creative Time’s communication and programming efforts, attracting greater buzz for our projects, growing our audience, and building excitement for our artists’ ideas and the work that we do. The fellowship is a 12-month part-time position. The fellow is expected to work one full day per week in the Creative Time office, and to cover programs and events as scheduled.

 
Reporting to the Communications Manager and working closely with the Deputy Director, Programming Team, Graphic Designer, and Project Artist(s), the Fellow will visually document various aspects of our projects and produce innovative content, including short-form promotional and documentary videos. Gain behind-the-scenes access to an arts organization, collaborate with our curators and artists , experience the installation process, attend opening events, interview audience members, and capture it all! The Fellow will be be part of the creative process, working with project curators and the marketing team to determine the best opportunities for audio and video content for each project.

 

The ideal candidate has creative vision, a knack for narrative, knowledge of and interest in the art world, prior experience in film production and post production, a technical background, and wants experience working with artists and teams in a creative, innovative environment. Competitive selection will be made based on a strong voice in videography, skill in editing, a clear perspective on the arts, motivation for working at Creative Time, and the ability to contribute to the organization.
 

Responsibilities

 

Video Fellow’s range of responsibilities include:

 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • – Storyboard unique concepts for teaser trailers and project documentation.
  • – Lead the pre-production, production, and post production process with detail, organization, and strong communication skills.
  • – Capture and edit all video footage.
  • – Create teaser videos and process-based mini docs for projects.
  • – Adapt content for various distribution channels, including web and social media platforms.
  • – Develop packaging & distribution strategies for video works.

 
REQUIREMENTS
 

  • – Bachelor’s in film and video, or related field.
  • – Must be resourceful and diplomatic, with experience balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • – Must demonstrate prior experience in documentation, filmmaking and the process of creating, editing, and posting video for the web.
  • – Comprehensive knowledge of digital video, Premiere, Final Cut Pro (or comparable software), and Photoshop required. Knowledge of After Effects and Illustrator helpful.
  • – A thorough understanding of storyboarding.
  • – Must have access to editing equipment & software.
  • – At least one day a week working out of Creative Time’s office in the East Village required, with the flexibility to additionally accommodate potential evening and weekend shoots/edits throughout the year, on a reasonable project-to-project basis.

 
SALARY
 
Salary: Fellows receive a monthly stipend. The following package is available for fellow’s primary use, should they lack their own digital SLR or ancillary equipment:
