“If all one has is the outlines of a thing unsaid, does that constitute data worth visualizing?”
Using data to interrogate narratives that we can’t see, Josh Begley’s practice attempts to map the relationship between data, the body, the landscape, and power. Josh is a data artist, filmmaker, and the creator of Metadata+, an iPhone app that tracks U.S. drone strikes. He has directed two short films, Concussion Protocol (2018) and Best of Luck with the Wall (2016) and has shown work at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Met Breuer, New York Film Festival, and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
