Elizabeth Mpofu is an organic farmer and activist based in the Masvingo Province of Zimbabwe. She has dedicated her life to working towards the betterment of smallholder farmers and on behalf of women’s rights. Since the 1990’s, she has held various leadership positions and currently serves as the General Coordinator of the International Coordination Committee for La Via Campesina, an international peasants’ movement whose membership draws from almost 70 countries with more than 200 million individuals.
