UP Tiempo!, presented by Creative Time and El Museo del Barrio jointly, included installations and performances that reflected Latin American artists’ visions of and concerns for their neighborhoods, communities, and barrios. Projects ranged from poetic to lightheartedly fun to disturbingly raw to viscerally real.

In particular, the program enlisted Guillermo Gómez-Peña and James Luna, who explored racial stereotypes, as well as sponsored readings and performances at spaces like the venerable Nuyorican Poets Cafe on the Lower East Side.
