The devastating consequences of Russia’s war in Ukraine are felt both in Ukraine and globally. With the aim of building our collective knowledge, educational resources, and solidarity efforts as cultural practitioners, Creative Time and the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School gathered a range of speakers for an emergency teach-in on the evolving crisis on Saturday, March 12, 2022. This session was offered as an introduction to what is happening in Ukraine as of March 2022: How did we get here? What are anti-war, anti-imperialist, anti-settler colonial pathways forward? What does solidarity look like, with Ukraine and oppressed people internationally? What might the role of artists and art workers be in this struggle?
