About the Event
On April 30th, Williamsburg’s legendary Domino Sugar Factory hosted some 600 guests for Creative Time’s most extraordinary gala yet, celebrating Julian Schnabel.
Like Julian, Creative Time is all about freedom – artistic, intellectual, and social, shattering the existing narrative and creating a new reality. He is an artist who freely creates in every medium that excites him, from painting and sculpture, to architecture and furniture, to film. We both believe deeply in artists’ power to spark not only reflection and wonder, but also meaningful political and cultural change and we boldly take on complex issues, compelling audiences to confront their own humanity. We couldn’t have been more excited to honor Julian for his robust influence on art, artists, and culture.
