Volunteer

We are seeking dedicated and energetic volunteers to staff Between the Door and the Street. Responsibilities will range from engaging with the public to assisting the participants during the performance and supporting the production team. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to be involved in an historic public art project that explores some of the critical issues of our day.

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate public engagement by providing way-finding and information services during the performance
  • Provide assistance to the 300-400 participants during rehearsals and performance
  • Support the production team; special installation-shifts available

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS

  • An opportunity to play a valuable role in a major participatory art project that explores contemporary gender politics
  • Experience working with artist Suzanne Lacy, Creative Time and Brooklyn Museum staff, and the project participants, who represent more than 60 activist organizations
  • An up-close look at the production of a large-scale, performance-based, historic public art project
  • A thank you gift
