Creative Time

Become a Creative Time Intern

Creative Time is New York’s veteran and vanguard public art organization. We accept applications for our fall, spring, and summer internship programs. Our interns gain hands-on experience developing research, producing projects, and contributing to organizational goals. Interns are invited to apply to a specific department including: Marketing & Communications, Curatorial, Programming, and Development. Our interns participate in internal and external planning meetings, attend staff presentations, and travel to local cultural institutions.

We encourage undergraduate, graduate, and recent graduates (within the last year) to apply. International applicants will be considered but must make their own visa, travel, and accommodation arrangements and be authorized to work in the United States. Selection for the internship program is made on the basis of the applicant’s interest and motivation in working for Creative Time, demonstrated ability to contribute to a team setting, and commitment to a meaningful work experience.

We are now accepting applications for internships for the Summer of 2024. Interns should be based in the New York City area and able to work in our offices or at local project sites for the duration of the program, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 to Friday, August 16, 2024. Interns must be able to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 10 AM – 6PM, with occasional evenings (usually Wednesdays), and weekends for events (please note the different schedule for the Curatorial intern). Interns will also receive one week of break during the program. We prefer a 24 hour per week commitment for our internships, but we also consider applicants that can offer a minimum of 16 hours per week. All interns are paid a $2,560 – $3,840 stipend for participation in the internship program.

Creative Time is an Equal Opportunity employer and diversity is important to us. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion or creed, gender, gender identity or expression, familial status, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, ability, age, arrest, or pre-employment conviction record, or military status.

How to Apply

Qualifications

Applicants should have a high attention to detail and be organized, motivated, and self-directed. In addition, solid writing, research, and computer skills are helpful, as is a professional and comfortable phone manner. An interest in contemporary art, a familiarity with the field, a sense of humor, and enthusiasm for Creative Time’s mission and programs are important.

Our work at Creative Time is inherently political, social, and invested in the global justice movements of our time. It is also fun, experimental, and often very delightful. We value individuals who embody those values, backgrounds, and lived experience.
