Tribute in Light Shines for the Tenth Year

On September 11, the twin beacons of Tribute in Light will beam up from the former site of the Twin Towers in Lower Manhattan for the 10th year in row. Creative Time realized the original Tribute in March 2002, in collaboration with the Municipal Art Society and the group of designers and artists who conceived the idea. At that time, the New York Times wrote, “Perhaps there has never been a more stirring monument.” Since then, the towers of light have been projected into the Manhattan sky every year on September 11 as a powerful memorial to the victims of 9/11.
