RE.START to Help Sandy Victims

November 27th, 2012

This year, our Board of Directors will match your year-end online gift to Creative Time and donate that amount in support of artists and art organizations affected by Hurricane Sandy.

In the wake of the hurricane, we at Creative Time are actively supporting impacted artists and communities by teaming up with Paddle8 and New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) to hold RE.START, a benefit auction in support of artists and art organizations affected by Sandy. Now through December 11, RE.START offers thirty lots featuring works by some of the leading international artists of our day, including Ai Weiwei, Nobuyoshi Araki, Dan Colen, David Hockney, Nate Lowman, Beatriz Milhazes, Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, Gabriel Orozco, Kiki Smith, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and Aaron Young, among others. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to storm-relief efforts, with Creative Time distributing half the money raised to nonprofit art organizations and NYFA allocating the other half to individual artists in need. Visit Paddle8 to place your bid today!

And now, thanks to the generosity of our Board, your donation to Creative Time will directly support hurricane victims while also enabling us to continue to:

• transform public spaces with provocative and engaging artworks like an upcoming surprise commission in an iconic New York City building;

• amplify artists’ voices in society through Creative Time Reports, our groundbreaking platform for commentary on critical issues by artists in all fields; in its first month alone Creative Time Reports has published stories from more than 30 artists working in more than 15 countries;

• broadcast video works by bold ascendant artists like Mickalene Thomas and Guido van der Werve on television in 600 million homes around the world with MTV Art Breaks;

• present the annual Creative Time Summit, the largest conference in the art world, watched by over 10,000 remote viewers every year and streamed live to more than 40 screening sites, from Bangkok to Berlin, Mexico to Mumbai, and beyond.

Donate online now and double the impact of your charitable gift. Your gift will go directly toward the most ambitious and timely art projects—art that really matters!
