Global Resident Lisi Raskin Opens “Recuperative Tactics” at Art in General
April 8th, 2014
Drawing on her 2013 Global Residency, Lisi Raskin is currently working on Recuperative Tactics, a new exhibition set to open at Art in General on April 19. She’s constructing an immersive, site-specific installation that recreates her travels throughout Afghanistan, where she studied the how the public interacts with war memorials. “Suturing found materials into an architectural palimpsest, Raskin transforms the gallery into the site of an attempted reconstruction of memory, riddled with the complicated cyphers of an outsider’s account of the vestiges of war.”
