Beach 108th St. is a short 4-minute walk from the Beach 105th St. Station (A, S trains).
BY FERRY
Beach 108th St. is a short 5-minute walk from the Rockaway – Soundview Ferry Station. Check the ferry schedule here.
BY CAR
Parking is available at 108-03 Beach Channel Drive Parking. Street parking is also available.
AT THE COMPETITION
The Sandcastle Competition will start promptly at 1 PM, and judges will begin deliberating at 4 PM, followed by the announcement of this year’s winning sandcastle! Guests may arrive at any time during the competition.
ACCESSIBILITY
The Sandcastle Competition will take place on the beach accessible via multiple boardwalk ramp entrances. The ground is uneven sand with occasional small rocks.
RESTROOMS
Public restrooms are available at the facilities building by Caracas Arepa Bar and Brothers Rockaway, including an ADA facility.
FOOD & DRINK
Caracas Arepa Bar and Brothers Rockaway are on the boardwalk closest to the competition for food and drink purchases.
PHOTO & VIDEO
The event will be professionally photographed and filmed, and shared on our social media channels and website.
RAIN
We are closely monitoring the forecast for Sunday. While some light rain is possible in the morning and early afternoon, we are planning to move forward with the competition as scheduled unless there is a risk of more severe weather or storms.
Should conditions require any changes to the day’s plans, we will be in touch first thing Sunday morning with an update.
