About the Project
The 2002 Holiday Light Show was projected in New York City’s historic Grand Central Terminal and featured six new works by visual, graphic, and net artists, which collectively captured the magical spirit of the holiday season.
Artists not only had the rare opportunity to work in a magnificent urban landmark, but were also enabled to display their pieces using cutting-edge technology. The Catalyst System, provided by Scharff Weisberg, cast the artworks onto the vaulted ceiling of Grand Central’s main concourse with a dynamism never before achievable in video projection technology.
