About the Project

Living up to their motto of “producing the most dangerous shows on earth,” in May 1988, in the Shea Stadium parking lot, Survival Research Laboratories staged a characteristically explosive event. Utilizing huge construction machines and pyrotechnics, SRL’s performance pummeled the audience with the reality of a violence usually limited to the news media.

Misfortunes of Desire Acted Out as an Imaginary Location Symbolizing Everything Worth Having was presented in partnership with The Kitchen, the New Museum, and the City of New York Parks and Recreation Department.
