LIVE FROM PLANET EARTH

Learning Theater, Pérez Art Museum Miami, 1103 Biscayne Blvd | Transportation Options

From 10am – 4pm The Nightclub presents Live From Planet Earth, exploring how humans, animals and other “vibrant” shape and perceive the landscape of the Earth, and describing a new idea of coexistence. Thinking about togetherness from an ahistorical and immediate perspective allows us to engage in a synchronic nature-cultural experience. Natureculture is a third space, the space in-between that emerges (as a result of sampling, signal processing) from the intimate contact of things, projections, soundscapes, museum-goers and other nonhuman bodies. Participants are invited to enjoy a real time viewing of digital image sampling (signal processing), as a surrounding environment for spontaneous conversation and uncanny expectations.

Angela Valella is a Miami based artist with a long engagement with artist-led projects and collaborative initiatives. She founded The Nightclub in 2012.

Roc Laseca is an art theorist and curator. A doctor in Cultural Perspective, he is Director of Los Encuentros Denkbilder and author of “The Unstoppable Museum”.

The Nightclub is a nomadic platform that has created a dialogue among diverse artistic practices and practitioners through curated exhibitions presented in various venues for four hours, one night only. The project has been shaped by exhibitions, talks, and happenings. It offers complete liberty in terms of artists’ participation and the type of work they propose, which in this case meant serving as curators and casting curators in the role of artists.
