SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We recognize that the last few days of COVID-19 related news and updates have understandably shifted many people’s priorities and focus. As a result, we have extended the application deadline for the Creative Time Emerging Artist Open Call until March 23, 2020 at 11:59pm EST.

Proposals are accepted electronically via Submittable. Artists must submit a resume, bio, selected works, and answer a series of questions detailing their proposal and interest in creating a public artwork with Creative Time. In their initial proposal, artists do not need to specify a site for their proposed project. Proposals will be accepted until March 23, 2020 at 11:59pm EST.

Due to the volume of interest, proposals will only be accepted electronically using our online portal. Materials sent by mail, in person, or by phone will not be considered. Please review all of the FAQs before contacting us with further inquiries at opencall@creativetime.org.

Creative Time will support the selected artist in all aspects of project realization, including concept development, fabrication/installation, audience engagement, and fundraising. The work will be presented in New York City in 2021.

ELIGIBILITY

We welcome proposals from emerging artists, regardless of age, at a critical career juncture in which the opportunity to experiment and receive resources from a major arts organization would be impactful. Please see the specific parameters of eligibility below:

– Artists must have experience conceiving and executing works or projects, but have not yet received substantial support from a major arts institution

– Artists must be over 21, and based in the New York City area

– Artists cannot be currently enrolled in a degree program

We encourage anyone who considers themselves an emerging artist to apply.
