Creative Time Welcomes Returning Board of Directors Member, Amanda Weil
June 11th, 2026
We are thrilled to welcome back Amanda Weil to the Creative Time Board of Directors. Amanda rejoins the Board at a pivotal moment as Creative Time embarks on a new chapter of artist-led public engagement, commissioning ambitious projects that challenge convention, spark conversation, and imagine new futures.
Founder of Weil Studio, Amanda has spent more than three decades exploring the intersection of photography and architecture through large-scale photographic glass installations. Amanda’s artistic practice also includes time based projects, including PicAnHr – one photo per hour each September dating from 1986. Amanda is a New York State certified mediator, and also serves as the President of the Norman Foundation, which, in its vision for a more just and participatory democracy, supports grassroots organizing and civic engagement.
A longtime member of the Creative Time community, Amanda previously served on the Board from 2001–2024, including a nine-year tenure as Board Chair from 2006–2013. During that time, she helped guide the organization through a period of bold artistic experimentation and landmark projects, including Paul Chan’s Waiting for Godot in post-Katrina New Orleans, Paul Ramirez Jonas’s Key to the City, and the traveling exhibition Democracy in America.
We are honored to welcome Amanda back and look forward to her leadership, vision, and longstanding commitment to artists and public life.
